Talks have reportedly stalled between Chelsea and N'Golo Kante over a new contract.
Although Kante has only made two appearances this season due to injury issues, which have affected his playing time over the last few years, he is still regarded as an important player for the Blues.
However, Chelsea are at risk of losing the France international on a free transfer next summer with less than 12 months remaining on his current deal.
According to the Daily Mail, discussions over a new contract have stalled due to a dispute about the length of the deal.
The midfielder is keen to receive a long-term contract similar to the one that Kalidou Koulibaly signed that keeps him at Stamford Bridge until 2026, but Chelsea have only offered Kante a two-year deal with the option of an additional year.
While the Chelsea hierarchy attempt to reach an agreement, after recovering from a hamstring injury, Kante could feature in Wednesday's Champions League squad for the home game against AC Milan.
