DC United forward Wayne Rooney confirms that he will not go on loan to another European club during the MLS off-season.

Wayne Rooney has confirmed that he will not go on loan to another European club during the MLS off-season.

The 33-year-old left Everton for DC United in July and has scored 12 times and registered six assists in his 19 league appearances for the MLS outfit.

Rooney's form has been instrumental to DC United securing a playoff spot, and it had been suggested that the former Manchester United captain could return to Europe in the winter.

However, the attacker has revealed that he has no plans to play for another club in the early stages of 2019.

"No. I think I committed myself to D.C. And that's why I'm going to give everything to D.C. In the off-season I'll stay here for a lot of that time with my children in school. I'll go back during Christmas to see some family and friends," Rooney told ESPN.

"I'm committed to D.C. and I don't think it'd be right for me to fly back and forth to play on loan with another team."

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson recently said that he would be interested in signing Rooney on loan, should the former England captain become available.
