Chris Coleman welcomes England friendly talk

Wales manager Chris Coleman admits that his side would love to face England in a potential warm-up match before the European Championships next year.

Wales manager Chris Coleman has welcomed calls for his side to take on England in a friendly before the European Championships.

The Welsh have failed to beat England since 1984, but Coleman admits that his side would love to face their British rivals in a possible warm-up fixture for the tournament in France.

Coleman told reporters: "All of us would love to play England because they are a great team, a juggernaut in world football and I am sure if there's a chance to have a friendly we would be right up for it.

"A lot has been said about going above England in the rankings, who are a great team. But the rankings won't get us to France. We can have a quiet smile, of course, but my mind is on France."

Wales take on Israel in Cardiff later today knowing that a win will guarantee qualification to Euro 2016.
