Wayne Rooney has admitted that he has "no idea" why England were awarded a penalty in their Euro 2016 qualifier against San Marino.
Roy Hodgson's side had a spot kick 12 minutes into the tie, allowing the captain to equal Sir Bobby Charlton's record of 49 goals for the Three Lions.
"I have no idea [why it was given]. I ran to the front post and something happened behind me, the referee pointed to the spot. I took it and scored," Talksport quotes the Manchester United striker as saying.
The 6-0 win confirmed England's qualification for next summer's tournament in France.
