Scott Parker hails Fulham's win against Aston Villa

Scott Parker hails Fulham's 2-0 win against Aston Villa at Craven Cottage.

Scott Parker believes that Fulham's win against Aston Villa this afternoon is a "massive" result for the club.

The Cottagers beat Paul Lambert's men 2-0 to end a run of seven consecutive defeats and record Rene Meulensteen's first win as manager.

"We all knew how important today was, we put in a shift and got the three points. We needed to pick up some points," he told reporters.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player also highlighted the performance of goalscorer Dimitar Berbatov, who has been linked with a move away from the club.

"He was exceptional again today and was on Wednesday. We all need to put in a shift and he's part of the team and we need to carry on from where we've left off today," he added.

Fulham are now 18th in the Premier League.
