The visitors opened the scoring with just four minutes on the clock as Imanol Agirretxe headed in a Carlos Vela cross.

Sociedad then extended their lead on 16 minutes when Agirretxe got on the end of another Vela cross to head home.

However, Getafe pulled a goal back midway through the half thanks to Ciprian Marica's low drive into the bottom corner.

The comeback was complete for the home side eight minutes into the second half when Pedro Leon smashed in a volley following Diego Castro's cross.

Despite Getafe's spirited fightback, the hosts were forced to finish the game with 10 men after Borja received his second yellow card for a foul on Jose Angel.
