Newcastle United are reportedly weighing up a summer swoop for Hertha Berlin prospect Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

Newcastle United have been linked with a summer move for Hertha Berlin striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

The Magpies are undecided whether to take up their option to buy Borussia Monchangladbach forward Luuk de Jong and are considering Lasogga as an alternative, Sky Sports News reports.

Lasogga, who has earned caps for Germany at Under-21 level, has spent the duration of this season on loan at fellow Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV.

The young prospect has impressed during his spell at Hamburg, scoring 12 goals in 19 games and breaking into the full Germany squad.

It is thought that Hertha are now considering cashing in on the player, with the Premier League touted as a likely destination.
