Steve Bruce backs Dame N'Doye to inspire Hull City survival

Hull City boss Steve Bruce backs deadline-day signing Dame N'Doye to lead the team to victory in their Premier League relegation battle.

Steve Bruce is confident that Hull City new boy Dame N'Doye is the man to fire the Tigers to Premier League safety this season.

The Senegal striker signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Hull on deadline day for a fee in the region of £2m.

Hull sit 18th in the table after scoring just 20 goals all season - the second lowest in the division behind Aston Villa.

However, Bruce says that the 29-year-old, who struck 27 goals in 66 games for Lokomotiv Moscow, will 'significantly' boost their chances of beating relegation.

"He will undoubtedly strengthen our squad and add a significant goal threat," he told the Daily Star. "You don't see much of the Russian league but I've seen Senegal play a few times.

"He's been a member of their team for the last couple of years and for years I've taken notice of that Senegal team.

"Out of all the players who have been imported, the African players have made a huge success of it. Physically, they have all the attributes to play in the Premier League."

He could make his debut in Saturday's trip to Premier League champions Manchester City.
