Steve Bruce unconcerned by Sunderland return

Hull City manager Steve Bruce insists that he is unconcerned by the reaction of Sunderland supporters when he returns to the club for the first time since he was dismissed in 2011.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has indicated that he is fully focused on earning three points from his first return to Sunderland since his dismissal in 2011.

Bruce won just 29 times in 98 matches during his time at the Stadium of Light, and the former Black Cats boss is unconcerned by a possible negative reaction on his return to Wearside.

The 53-year-old told reporters: "I haven't been back since I left, but as far as I'm concerned, it's gone.

"I've been here almost a couple of years, there's been three managers since I left Sunderland, let's get on with our lives."

Bruce must avoid defeat against Sunderland to prevent his old club moving past Hull in the Premier League table.
