Mick McCarthy braced for Aaron Cresswell, David McGoldrick bids

Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy admits that he faces a fight to keep Aaron Cresswell and David McGoldrick at Portman Road beyond the summer.

Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy has admitted that he faces a fight to keep Aaron Cresswell and David McGoldrick at Portman Road beyond the summer.

The duo have impressed for the Tractor Boys throughout the campaign, and McCarthy believes that the pair's form will not have gone unnoticed by other clubs.

Asked whether or not he anticipates outside interest in Cresswell and McGoldrick, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss told the Ipswich Star: "Maybe, I don't know.

"I suppose we're at that time - Cressy, David McGoldrick; there'll be a few. If the phone rings I might just ignore it!"

The players remain contracted at the club until 2017.
