Robbie Keane double helps down sorry Toronto

LA Galaxy thump Toronto 3-0 at the StubHub Center, courtesy of a brace from striker Robbie Keane.

Robbie Keane struck two first-half goals as Los Angeles Galaxy beat Toronto 3-0 at the StubHub Center this morning.

Bruce Arena's side threatened to take the lead early on when Brazilian ace Juninho struck the post.

However, Keane was on hand to open the scoring on 22 minutes, latching on to Landon Donovan's scuffed shot before casually finishing past Joe Bendik.

Things got better for the Irishman just three minutes later as the former Tottenham Hotspur hitman expertly volleyed a dropping ball from AJ DeLaGarza beyond the helpless Bendik.

Dwayne De Rosario missed a good chance to reduce the arrears in the closing stages after seeing his shot well saved by Jaime Penedo.

It proved a costly miss as Alan Gordon put the result beyond doubt in the final moments of the game to cap a rousing win for the hosts.
