Middlesbrough have reportedly had a £4m bid for David Nugent accepted by Leicester City.
The 30-year-old striker scored five goals for the Foxes in the Premier League last season, but was mainly used as a substitute behind Leonardo Ulloa, Jamie Vardy and Andrej Kramaric.
Nugent was more effective in the Championship, bagging 22 goals to help Leicester win promotion in the 2013-14 campaign.
Boro are said to be looking for a new frontman after Patrick Bamford's loan deal from Chelsea expired at the end of last season.
According to Gazette Live, Nugent has been given permission to speak to Boro head coach Aitor Karanka and club chiefs after Leicester accepted their bid.
Nugent joined Leicester from Portsmouth in July 2011.
