Liverpool's Adam Lallana: 'I can perform better'

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana insists that he can "get better" after putting in an impressive display against Everton at the weekend.

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has vowed to "get better" as he continues to reach match fitness following a spell on the sidelines with injury.

The England international, who joined the Reds from Southampton for a reported £25m fee in the summer, impressed during the Merseyside derby against Everton at Anfield on Saturday, which finished in a 1-1 draw.

"After every game I'm feeling more comfortable," the Liverpool Echo quotes Lallana as saying. "I just want to keep working hard and I still feel I can improve even more, get better and put in better performances.

"I don't want to make excuses, but I did miss pre-season. It's a valuable part of getting the rustiness out. It's just going to be with game time now."

Liverpool will switch their attention to the Champions League when they take on Basel on Wednesday.
