Jamie Carragher could be in line for a return from a calf injury in time for Liverpool's match against Chelsea this weekend.

Jamie Carragher could make a return to the Liverpool starting lineup for the weekend's Premier League fixture against Chelsea.

The club's vice-captain has been sidelined for the last two matches - a win over West Bromwich Albion and draw against Swansea City, with a calf injury.

"Jamie has joined in training over the last couple of days and looked good," coach Steve Clarke told the club's official website.

"He was out for a couple of weeks with a minor calf injury. We just made sure he took his time, recovered from it, and he's trained well these past couple of days.

"He'll be in contention for the weekend if there are no mishaps between now and the game."

The 33-year-old made his Liverpool debut in 1996.
