Torquay United goalkeeper Dan Lavercombe has been handed a one-week trial by Premier League side Liverpool.
The 19-year-old only signed a professional contract with the Gulls last month and played the last five games of the Conference Premier season.
Lavercombe kept three clean sheets in those matches and Torquay manager Chris Hargreaves says that the youngster has impressed him.
"We're not talking about a permanent move for Dan, at least not yet. Liverpool have had him watched and like him, and they have asked us if they can have a closer look at him," Hargreaves told the club's official website.
"It's a win-win situation for us – the worst that can happen is that Dan gets more good experience, a bit of Liverpool FC rubs off on him and he comes back to us the better for it."
Torquay finished the season 13th in the table.
