Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah reportedly outlines a specific contract demand as he continues to negotiate a potential stay at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah reportedly suggests to Liverpool that he will only commit his future to the club if one specific demand is met.

The club legend is well into the final 12 months of his contract at Anfield as speculation persists regarding a potential change of scenery for the latter stage of his career.

On a weekly basis, there has been talk of a possible move to the Saudi Pro League, clubs from that part of the world naturally interested in acquiring a player of Salah's profile on a free transfer.

Any of the four PIF-controlled teams are realistically in the running for the 32-year-old's signature, yet it remains to be seen how Liverpool will act in order to retain his services.

Salah has enjoyed a terrific start to the new campaign, taking his Premier League goal and assist contribution into double figures with a penalty in the 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

Three more have come in the Champions League and EFL Cup respectively, but his perceived happiness with life on Merseyside seems no guarantee that he will extend his contract.

What demand is Salah making?

According to Football Insider, Salah will only be prepared to pen fresh terms at Liverpool if he receives the contract length that he craves.

The report suggests that Salah wants to sign a three-year deal, his preference seemingly being to extend his time playing at the highest level.

Liverpool are said to share the same opinion, that Salah would like to continue participating in the Premier League and Champions League over a lucrative switch to the Middle East.

Furthermore, Liverpool are allegedly not concerned that Salah has been presented with a bigger contract proposal than they would be able to offer him.

Salah not the only contractual situation to resolve...

As with Salah, it is common knowledge that Liverpool are also attempting to tie Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk down to a new contract.

Both players, along with Salah, can open negotiations with foreign clubs at the turn of the year if their respective situations remain the same.

On a positive note, though, Liverpool have seemingly been handed a boost in their efforts to keep at least one of the three at the club.
