Jose Mourinho has reportedly turned down an offer to become the next manager of Ligue 1 side Lyon.
The role became vacant after Lyon sacked manager Sylvinho, who took over in the summer, following a poor run of results which has left the club 14th in the table.
Mourinho has been out of a job since the Portuguese was dismissed by Manchester United in December 2018.
According to The Mirror, the 55-year-old turned down the offer to manage in France - a country where he has never worked - because he wants a return to the Premier League.
It is claimed that Mourinho has his sights set on taking the Tottenham Hotspur job, with Mauricio Pochettino under serious pressure following a week which saw Spurs lose 7-2 to Bayern Munich and 3-0 to Brighton & Hove Albion.
However, according to reports, the Spurs hierarchy remain fully behind the Argentine, who is set to have talks with chairman Daniel Levy about the January transfer window.
