Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Oscar Wendt has admitted that he is "disappointed" with the decision to postpone his side's Champions League tie with Manchester City this evening.
The Group C fixture was called off shortly before kickoff at the Etihad Stadium due to a deluge of rain which left the game unsafe to go ahead.
Officials are still yet to decide when the match will be re-played, with Wednesday the most likely date at this stage, but Wendt is upset that many of the travelling Gladbach supporters will not be around to see it.
"We are disappointed for the fans because 90% of them will probably not be able to watch the rearranged game," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "But if the decision had to be taken for safety reasons then we understand it and respect it."
UEFA officials are expected to meet at 9.30pm on Tuesday to determine when the match can go ahead.
