Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini reportedly flies home to Italy after seeing his side lose 2-0 to Everton on Saturday.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini reportedly flew back to Italy yesterday following his side's 2-0 defeat to Everton.

The Italian sought refuge in his homeland after the loss and refused to speak to the media following the game, with City assistant manager David Platt claiming that he was "too angry" to answer questions on his team's performance.

According to The Mirror, it is the second time in as many months that the former Inter Milan coach has headed for home following a defeat, having done so after the loss to Southampton on February 9.

City currently trail bitter local rivals Manchester United by 15 points in the Premier League.
