Manchester United full-back Alexander Buttner has revealed that he watched videos of Arjen Robben in action to help to prepare him for yesterday's Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
The 25-year-old has been used sparingly by David Moyes this season, having featured on just 12 occasions in all competitions.
However, with Patrice Evra suspended, the Dutchman was required to fill United's left-back void and he has admitted that he prepared for the task of shackling his fellow countryman with the use of "a lot of videos".
"Of course, for me, he is the best right winger in the world and a really good player. I watched a lot of videos so I know what he does and what kind of actions he makes. It was nice to stop him. I was focused 100% to win my challenge and I think I did well," he told the club's official website.
Buttner was forced off during the second half of the 1-1 draw with a hamstring injury, but he is believed to be in contention for the weekend's trip to Newcastle United.
