Rafael da Silva doubtful for Manchester United

Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva sits out training ahead of Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Bayern Munich.

Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva has missed training ahead of Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian was forced off at half time with a thigh strain on Saturday during United's 4-1 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League.

However, Rio Ferdinand, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans all took part in Monday's session after missing the victory over Villa.

Antonio Valencia also returned training following his absence over the weekend.

United welcome defending champions Bayern to Old Trafford before next week's second leg at the Allianz Arena.
