Saturday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:
Sheffield United 'make moves for Manchester United duo'
Sheffield United have reportedly made approaches for Manchester United duo Jesse Lingard and Brandon Williams, with the pair both expected to leave Old Trafford this month.
Lingard, who has recently been linked with Nice and Inter Milan, has not played a single minute of Premier League football this season, having fallen down the pecking order at the club.
Williams, meanwhile, is now behind both Luke Shaw and Alex Telles at left-back and has been restricted to just six appearances in all competitions this season.
According to Football Insider, the Blades have approached the Red Devils to discuss loan deals for the pair, although the Premier League strugglers could face a host of competition.
Both Newcastle United and Southampton are also thought to be interested in Williams, who is also capable of filling in at right-back and could therefore yet be required to stay with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
Sheffield United are currently bottom of the Premier League table, nine points behind 17th-placed Brighton & Hove Albion ahead of Sunday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
Paul Scholes: 'Manchester United should move for Wesley Fofana'
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has urged the Red Devils to make a move for Leicester City's Wesley Fofana during the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old joined Leicester from Saint-Etienne in the summer and has been in impressive form for the Foxes this season, making 19 appearances in all competitions.
Scholes has claimed that the centre-back "has the potential to be anything he wants to be" and is keen for his former club to target a mid-season move for the Frenchman.
"If I was Ole and could sign a defender this month, I'd go for Wesley Fofana at Leicester. He's only 20, but he has been outstanding and he has the potential to be anything he wants to be," Scholes told ESPN.
Fofana, who penned a five-year deal at the King Power Stadium upon his arrival, featured on 30 occasions for Saint-Etienne's first team before joining the Foxes.
United recently completed a deal for Atalanta BC attacker Amad Diallo, and the teenager trained alongside his teammates for the first time on Thursday ahead of this weekend's clash with Liverpool.
