Manchester United goalkeeper Lee Grant has insisted that head coach Jose Mourinho has been delivering positive messages to the squad on their pre-season tour of the United States.
Mourinho has cut a frustrated figure on United's pre-season tour, and criticised a number of the club's younger players following the 4-1 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday night.
Anthony Martial and Antonio Valencia were also targets for Mourinho at the weekend, but Grant has played down suggestions that the United boss has been negative in and around the camp.
"From what we're getting from the inside it [the atmosphere around the camp] has been nothing but positive," Grant told Sky Sports News.
"He's come in even after the Liverpool game and spoken very highly of what we've have given as a team and as a unit. The messages we are getting from the manager are positive ones and that is important for us going forward.
"His attitude and demeanour around the place is great and that is helpful for us especially when we are under-manned and we are working our hardest. We are well aware at this stage of the season you have got to work hard and get the minutes into the legs and that is what we are doing."
United will continue their preparations for the new campaign with a pre-season clash against European champions Real Madrid on Tuesday night.
