David Moyes wants more from Wayne Rooney in Manchester derby

Manchester United boss David Moyes hopes that Wayne Rooney will continue his goalscoring exploits against Manchester City.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has expressed his hope that Wayne Rooney will continue his recent good form in this weekend's Manchester derby.

The 27-year-old scored twice on Tuesday evening as United beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 in the group stages of the Champions League.

Moyes has said that he would like to see Rooney produce another strong performance when they face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

"He's worked hard and is showing exactly what he can do," Goal.com quotes the United boss as saying.

"If Wayne could score another two goals at the weekend that would be the next step forward. I'm asking him to step up again."

Rooney's midweek brace saw him become only the fourth player to score 200 goals for United.
