Manchester United have reportedly placed Edin Terzic on their managerial shortlist, with the former Borussia Dortmund head coach viewed as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag, should a change be made.
Ten Hag's job is thought to be safe for now, with the Dutchman set to lead the 20-time English champions into their clash with Brentford after the October international break.
However, a poor result for the Red Devils next weekend would leave senior figures at the club with a serious decision to make, as Man United have already made their worst-ever start to a Premier League season.
Ex-Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel continues to be linked with the job at Old Trafford, while there have been suggestions that Ruud van Nistelrooy could take charge on an interim basis.
Sporting Lisbon's Ruben Amorim also allegedly has admirers at the club, with the 39-year-old viewed as a long-term option for Man United, who finished eighth in the Premier League table last season.

Man United 'consider Terzic as Ten Hag replacement'
According to The Sun, Terzic is also on the club's shortlist, with the 41-year-old viewed as a genuine contender for the top job with the 20-time English champions.
Terzic led Dortmund to last season's Champions League final, with the German side losing to Real Madrid, but he then surprisingly stepped down as head coach.
"After the game at Wembley, I asked for a meeting with the club's senior management team, because after nine years at BVB - including six on the coaching staff and two and a half as head coach - I feel that the club's new era should begin with a new man on the touchline," Terzic told reporters after the Champions League final.
"Everyone close to me knows that this has been a very difficult decision for me to take over the last few weeks, but after intensive discussions my fundamental feeling has not changed. I wish Borussia Dortmund the very best, thank you and see you soon."
Terzic took charge of 156 games during two spells as Dortmund head coach, boasting an impressive record of 83 wins, 20 draws and 21 defeats, winning the German Cup in the process.

Who will Man United face before the end of the month?
Man United have four games before the end of October, starting with next weekend's league clash against Brentford, which is a must-win contest for Ten Hag considering his position.
The Red Devils will then head to Turkey to tackle Fenerbahce in the Europa League, before facing a trip to West Ham United in the league on October 27.
The 20-time English champions will then end the month with a game against Leicester City in the EFL Cup, so Ten Hag is facing a make-or-break period, with a change almost certain to occur if the next couple of weeks are not a success.
