Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane.
The 27-year-old's current deal at the Bernabeu is due to expire in the summer of 2022, and it is understood that Los Blancos are struggling to reach an agreement with the defender over a fresh contract.
Madrid are allegedly open to the idea of Varane leaving if they receive an offer in the region of €70m (£61m) ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
According to AS, Liverpool could capitalise on the stalling contact talks by submitting a bid for the World Cup winner during this summer's transfer window.
The Reds would likely face competition for his signature, though, as Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Juventus are also said to be keeping a close eye on developments.
Varane has made 350 appearances for Zinedine Zidane's since since arriving from Lyon.
