Barcelona defender Jordi Alba has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United.
Alba has been at Camp Nou since 2012, but last season he was restricted to just 21 starts during Barcelona's failed bid to win La Liga.
According to ESPN, that has led to United boss Jose Mourinho showing an interest in the 26-year-old as he looks to strengthen in defence.
Mourinho had to contend with injuries and loss of form at left-back during the most recent campaign, with as many as four different players having to be deployed there during a hectic year.
However, it has been suggested that United are only considered to be outsiders to sign the Spanish international, who is said to be willing to try to hold down a regular role under new coach Ernesto Valverde.
The former Valencia man also has three years remaining on his contract.
