Real Madrid are reportedly contemplating whether to make an approach for Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane.
Spurs are currently in disarray both on and off the pitch, the latter due to the club only being able to qualify for the Europa Conference League if results go their way at the weekend.
Furthermore, the North Londoners are without a permanent head coach and sporting director, the latest development in the chase for the former being a rejection from Feyenoord's Arne Slot.
Regardless of who eventually takes the reins at Spurs, chairman Daniel Levy must also handle the scenario of Kane's contract being due to expire in 2024.
With no Champions League football on the horizon in the short term, it appears increasingly unlikely that the club's record goalscorer will pen fresh terms.

Complicating matters is a perceived reluctance of Levy to sell to a Premier League, where Kane would ideally prefer to stay in order to fulfil his desire to win silverware and break further records.
While Manchester United remain a potential destination, it appears that a chance may arise for the 29-year-old to spend the next phase of his career in Spain.
According to Cadena Ser, an intermediary has made contact with Real to enquire about their interest in the England captain.
Although Los Blancos will eventually require a replacement for Karim Benzema, it was claimed earlier this year that Real officials were against making big-money additions this summer.

Since then, Real are said to have made progress in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, who will cost in excess of £100m.
The completion of such a deal may reduce the chances of Kane moving to La Liga, yet it is added in the same report that Eden Hazard could be used as a makeweight.
That is despite the retired Belgium international stating on more than one occasion that he and his family are settled in Madrid, and have no intention of leaving before 2024.
On the flip side, Hazard - who is no more than a fringe member of Carlo Ancelotti's squad - spent seven years in London with Chelsea before moving to Real.
