Chelsea have reportedly launched a bid to sign Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin.
The 27-year-old Colombian star, who has scored on each of his last two Serie A appearances for Inter, is believed to have attracted interest from Manchester United in recent weeks.
However, according to The Metro, the men from Stamford Bridge are in pole position to sign the player.
The newspaper claims that United officials have travelled to Italy to try to agree a deal for Guarin, but Chelsea have edged ahead of their domestic rivals by lodging an official offer in excess of £10m.
Guarin, whose current contract at the San Siro is due to expire in June 2016, has been capped 47 times at senior international level.
