Manchester United are reportedly preparing to launch an official £50m offer for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes enjoyed an impressive 2018-19 campaign for Sporting, scoring 32 times and registering 18 assists in 53 appearances in all competitions.
United have been strongly linked with a move for the Portugal international in recent weeks, while Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest.
According to The Independent, the Red Devils are now preparing a concrete £50m offer for the midfielder, with head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen for the 24-year-old to move to Old Trafford.
The report, meanwhile, claims that a bid for Fernandes does not depend on Paul Pogba, who continues to be strongly linked with a move away from Manchester ahead of the 2019-20 season.
United have already signed Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer, with the former arriving from Swansea City and the latter from Crystal Palace.
The 20-time English champions are currently in Australia preparing for the new campaign.
