West Ham United are reportedly planning to make a late £15m move for Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.
The Hammers have been linked with the 28-year-old throughout the summer, after he scored nine goals in just 16 Premier League games during a productive loan spell in the second half of last season.
Man United's initial asking price of £25m saw negotiations break down, but the Daily Star reports that West Ham are now ready to test the Red Devils' resolve with a late move before Tuesday's 11pm transfer deadline.
The Hammers are hopeful that Cristiano Ronaldo's unexpected return to Old Trafford will increase the possibility of Man United letting Lingard leave, with first-team opportunities likely to be more difficult to come by now.
Lingard is keen to be playing regular football having worked his way back into the England setup, and could push to leave in the closing days of the window.
West Ham now believe that a £15m approach could be enough to tempt Man United into selling, although Everton are also thought to be interested in the midfielder.
