Paris Saint-Germain reportedly face the prospect of paying Mauricio Pochettino as much as £12m if they wish to sack him this summer.
Despite winning the Ligue 1 title with several games to spare, the Argentine is being judged on his failure to get the club past the last 16 of the Champions League.
For a number of months, it has been claimed that club officials are prepared to part ways with Pochettino at the end of the season, aware that they will be able to attract a big-name replacement.
However, according to L'Equipe, PSG would have to shell out £12m if they want to end Pochettino's reign a year before the end of his contract.
While that is unlikely to deter PSG from making a change in the dugout, it increases the pressure of identifying the right replacement in the long term.
The report claims that the French giants are yet to reach a decision over an alternative with Antonio Conte, Joachim Low, Thiago Motta and Marcelo Gallardo all said to be under consideration.
