Rangers manager Ally McCoist assures fans that the club will recover from going into administration and come out "far better and far stronger".

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has spoken for the first time since the Glasgow club went into administration earlier on Tuesday.

The Blue side of Scotland's largest city have all but handed this year's Scottish Premier League title to great rivals Celtic because of a ten-point deduction which leaves them 14 points adrift of the Hoops.

Gers boss McCoist has moved to assure fans that the club will now rally together to ensure they come through a tough period with a stronger future.

"We will be doing everything to make sure Rangers comes out the other side far better and far stronger," the 49-year-old told the club's official website.

"There's no getting away from it. It has been a very disappointing and black day.

"We have 140 years of fantastic history at this football club but the most important thing is that we look to the future and the next 140 years."

The Ibrox club were forced into administration because of an unpaid tax bill of £9m - accrued since Craig Whyte took over in May.
