Ally McCoist wants to add a striker to the Rangers squad before the transfer window closes.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist is hopeful of signing a new striker before the transfer window closes.

McCoist has been busy in the transfer market this summer but still wants to add to his attacking options at Ibrox.

"There are three or four players we are looking at in forward positions and we will keep looking and keep searching away," said McCoist.

"There is nothing concrete or immediate happening at the moment but that’s not to say that we would be averse to bringing one or two other players in."

Rangers have signed Carlos Bocanegra, Alejandro Bedoya and Matt McKay during the transfer window so far.

The club have also been linked with a move for Tottenham defender Jake Livermore and South African defender Bongani Khumalo.

Rangers continue their Scottish Premier League season with an away match at Motherwell on Sunday.
