Gareth Bale "gutted" to miss out on Champions League quarter-final

Gareth Bale takes to social media to wish his Real Madrid teammates luck ahead of this evening's Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has admitted that he is "gutted" to be sitting out this evening's Champions League quarter-final tie against Atletico Madrid.

The city rivals are currently locked at 0-0 following last week's first leg, although the Welshman will play no part due to a leg injury sustained against Malaga last weekend.

It was announced on Monday that the world's most expensive player is likely to be out of action for between two and three weeks, meaning that he could feature in the final four of the competition should Los Blancos progress.

Bale has made 43 appearances for Madrid this season, scoring 17 goals in the process.
