Nuri Sahin admits that he still owes Borussia Dortmund something more after scoring two goals in the 5-1 win over Freiburg.

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Nuri Sahin has admitted that he owes something to the German side for them standing by him.

The Turkish international, who is on-loan from Real Madrid, scored twice in the 5-1 win over Freiburg on Saturday to silence the critics.

Since his return to the club, Sahin has only started one game after struggling to find his feet, but the 24-year-old has thanked the club for sticking by him.

"I owed this to the club," Sahin told Sky Sports News. "It was important for me for the penny to drop sooner or later and the coach always said it was just a matter of time.

"I played a few bad passes, but that's part of my game and you can get away with that with this coach. That does you good. It's not only the coach, though. The whole club is standing behind me in the same way the coach is, and you only get that here.

"I owed something to them, and I owe them something still, but I think I contributed to us winning this game."

Sahin is expected to stay on loan at Dortmund until the end of the 2013–14 season.
