Real Madrid defender Ricardo Carvalho will reportedly not be joining Queens Park Rangers before tonight's transfer deadline.

Queens Park Rangers are reportedly not expected to sign Real Madrid defender Ricardo Carvalho before the end of today's transfer deadline.

The former Chelsea centre-back, who has been told by Madrid manager Jose Mourinho that he needs to leave the Bernabeu or risk sitting on the bench for the rest of the season, was originally thought to be a target for the West London outfit.

It now appears that the 34-year-old will not be added to QPR's already growing squad, according to BBC Sport.

Meanwhile, Stephane Mbia is due to have a medical at Loftus Road in the next few hours to complete a move from Marseille.
