New York Red Bulls beat Columbus Crew 3-1 at home in the MLS thanks to a brace from Thierry Henry.

New York Red Bulls have defeated Columbus Crew 3-1 at home in their Major League Soccer clash, thanks to a superb performance from French forward Thierry Henry.

Crew broke the deadlock at the Red Bull Arena after just three minutes when Milovan Mirosevic found the target from close range.

However, Red Bulls leveled the score in the ninth minute courtesy of Henry side-footing home a Rafael Marquez long ball.

The home side launched attacks on the Crew goal thereafter and went ahead in the 79th minute when Dax McCarty headed home Henry's corner.

Henry ascertained the points for Red Bulls in the 90th minute when he scored directly from a corner kick.
