Mauricio Pochettino backs Paulo Gazzaniga for Southampton

Mauricio Pochettino says that he has the utmost faith in Southampton goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga.

Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that he has no worries about playing goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga in the Premier League for Southampton following an injury to Artur Boruc.

The 21-year-old is likely to start against Aston Villa on Wednesday night after Boruc was ruled out for up to six weeks with a fractured hand, and Kelvin Davis has been struggling with a back problem.

"Of course we are going to miss Artur, he is a great goalkeeper, but we have complete trust in the whole squad, not just Paulo Gazzaniga," Pochettino told the club's website.

"It will depend on his convalescing and recuperation for how long he is out for and we do not know exactly how long that will be."

You can read live coverage of Saints vs. Villa from St Mary's with Sports Mole from 6.45pm tonight.
