Mauricio Pochettino: 'We missed out on two points at Sunderland'

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino believes that his side's goalless draw against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light was a case of two points lost.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has bemoaned his side's inability to beat Sunderland on Tuesday night, seeing the goalless draw at the Stadium of Light as two points lost.

The visitors dominated proceedings on the pitch against the Black Cats, enjoying 73% of possession, but could not make the breakthrough.

Pochettino told BBC Sport after the match: "We are disappointed because I think we missed two points.

"In the first half it was difficult for us to create chances, which was strange, but in the second half we played better and we had the chances to win the game.

"It was not a good night for us but it is a good thing for us to learn that we need to play from the beginning of the game with the same aggression and attitude we showed in the second half."

Spurs remain nine points behind leaders Chelsea in the Premier League table after the Blues were held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool.
