RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly Tottenham Hotspur's first choice to take over from Jose Mourinho in North London.

Tottenham Hotspur have supposedly identified RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann as their leading candidate to replace Jose Mourinho as manager.

The Portuguese boss was relieved of his duties on Monday morning after winning just one of his final six matches at the helm, with the club languishing in seventh place in the Premier League table.

Former player Ryan Mason has led first-team training sessions ahead of Wednesday's Premier League battle with Southampton, and Spurs have been linked with Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers as they search for Mourinho's successor.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Nagelsmann is Daniel Levy's number one target in their hunt for a new manager, and the 33-year-old could be open to a move to the English capital this summer.

On the other hand, the report adds that Spurs could have to cough up £10m to prise Nagelsmann away from Leipzig, as his existing deal does not expire until 2023, and the former Hoffenheim boss is being tipped to become Hansi Flick's successor at Bayern Munich.

Mourinho has been sacked by Spurs just six days before their EFL Cup final with Manchester City, and Spurs players are thought to have been involved in a dressing room revolt against the 58-year-old.
