Paul Merson: 'Tottenham the worst team to watch in the Premier League'

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson says that Tottenham Hotspur are the worst team to watch in the Premier League.

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are the worst team to watch in the Premier League.

Despite leading the way at the top of the table in mid-December, Spurs have since suffered a decline in form which has dropped Jose Mourinho's men down to eighth, seven points behind Liverpool in fourth.

After Thursday night's 1-0 loss at home to Chelsea, Merson said that he was "disappointed" with Spurs and believes that they should be performing better with the talented squad they have.

"Some Tottenham fans will see this, while some might think I'm being harsh, but Tottenham are the worst team in the Premier League to watch, at the moment," Merson told Sky Sports News.

"We've all seen teams play like this, of course we have, but not with the quality of squad Spurs have. I was so disappointed in Spurs. I could not believe what I was watching.

"This is as bad a football as you'll see, at the moment. Even West Brom are going and having a go. Newcastle went to Everton and had a go. It's just hope football. Hope that they score first and then they have something to play for."

Tottenham are currently preparing for their next match in the Premier League at home to West Bromwich Albion this weekend before their fifth round tie in the FA Cup away at Everton next Wednesday.
