Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the race to sign highly-rated Ajax youngster Frenkie de Jong as they prepare for a big-money offer from Real Madrid for Christian Eriksen.
Ajax are refusing to cash in on the latest star name to emerge from their academy setup until the end of the campaign.
Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are all said to be preparing offers for the Netherlands international, while Juventus are rumoured to have already opened talks over a summer transfer.
According to The Mirror, Tottenham may also now try their luck as they are bracing themselves for the loss of Eriksen, who is a £100m target for Los Blancos.
Spurs are said to have already made contact with the young midfielder's agent Ali Dursun to offer guarantees that they will match the highest bid for his client.
De Jong, used 20 times in Eredivisie and the Champions League combined this season, is valued at around £67m.
