Swansea City midfielder Sam Clucas claims that his team did not deserve to lose to Arsenal in Saturday's Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Swansea City midfielder Sam Clucas has admitted that Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Arsenal was "tough to take".

Clucas sent the Swans into a 22nd-minute lead at the Emirates Stadium, before Arsenal turned things around in the second period courtesy of goals from Sead Kolasinac and Aaron Ramsey.

Swansea's goalscorer has claimed that Arsenal 'did not deserve' to level early in the second half, and only recorded all three points due to their superior finishing rather than overall play.

"I thought in the first half we played well and we deserved to lead. They didn't do enough to warrant being level," Clucas told reporters. "We had enough chances to keep exploiting them on the break, but that lapse of concentration in the early part of the second half cost us. They had two chances and teams like this take them.

"The first half was tough because we were always pinned in, and everyone is tired mentally and physically. I think we lost concentration for 15 minutes so it is tough to take, but there are positives to take."

The result has left Arsenal in fifth place in the Premier League table on 19 points, while Swansea sit 17th after taking just eight points from 10 matches thus far.
