Jenkins blasts moaning managers

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins says that managers should be grateful to be in the Europa League as opposed to complaining about the fixture pileup.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has criticised managers for moaning about competing in the Europa League.

A number of coaches, including Harry Redknapp and Alan Pardew, have previously complained about the schedule in the second-tiered European competition.

"There are a lot of managers within the Premier League that talk a load of rubbish [about the Europa League] at times and it's sad that a lot of people listen to them," the Daily Star quotes Jenkins as saying.

"It's my view they should be pleased and privileged to be in the position they're in and should enjoy every second of being a manager and a professional footballer. That's how simple it should be."

Swansea will compete in the competition for the first time after winning the League Cup last weekend.
