Torino bring down Chievo

An own goal from Gennaro Sardo and Alessandro Gazzi's strike prove enough for Torino to beat Chievo 2-0 in Turin.

Torino have brought an end to Chievo's three-game winning run with a 2-0 victory over the Flying Donkeys at home in Serie A.

The Turin club went ahead in the 12th minute when Gennaro Sardo inadvertently put the ball into his own goal.

The hosts could have gone 2-0 up just two minutes later had Gianluca Sansone been able to keep Giuseppe Vives's free kick on target from close range.

Torino eventually scored their second goal of the afternoon in the 26th minute when Alessandro Gazzi fired in from outside the Chievo penalty area.

Chievo stepped up their efforts in the second half, as Perparim Hetemaj and Isaac Cofie had chances inside the first 10 minutes.

However, Torino soon regained their dominance at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino with Rolando Bianchi, Alessio Cerci and Sansone going close to adding to their tally.
