Troyes have been relegated from Ligue 1 after blowing a lead in their 2-1 defeat to Valenciennes at the Stade du Hainaut.
It was the visitors who went ahead in the 12th minute through Benjamin Nivet. Florian Jarjat found the midfielder inside the box and he finished past Nicolas Penneteau.
Jean-Christophe Bahebeck then tested Penneteau a minute later, but the 32-year-old showed a safe pair of hands.
David Ducourtioux nearly headed his team back on level terms after getting on the end of Gael Danic's cross in the 19th minute, but the defender saw his effort come back off the post.
Valenciennes piled on the pressure in the second half, with Gaetan Bong also hitting the woodwork, but the hosts had to wait until the 68th minute for their luck to turn, with Jarjat turned the ball past his own keeper.
Gregory Pujol's goal two minutes before the end sent Jean-Marc Furlan's men down to Ligue 2.
