Reading move into the Championship playoff places with a 2-1 win at Watford.

Reading have moved into the Championship playoff places with a 2-1 win at Watford.

The hosts took the lead when Reading defender Sean Cummings slid in at the back post to convert a cross into his own net.

Hal Robson-Kanu should have been sent off for Reading in the first half for a nasty stamp on Mark Yeates when challenging for the ball.

It was Robson-Kanu who set up his side's equaliser before the break when his floated cross was headed in by Jimmy Kebe at the back post.

Troy Deeney flashed a shot high and wide early in the second half for Watford, before Craig Forsyth was lucky to stay on the pitch for a lunging tackle.

In a tentative second period, Reading snatched their winner with five minutes to play when Adam Le Fondre poked in from a corner.
