Tony Pulis was "very pleased" with West Bromwich Albion's performance in beating local rivals Birmingham City 2-1 in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.
Victor Anichebe scored a first-half brace for the Baggies at St Andrew's, where the hosts could only reply through Jonathan Grounds on the stroke of the break.
Pulis felt that the West Midlands neighbours produced a "cracking cup tie", but hinted that his side were deserved winners.
"We played very well in the first half and I was really disappointed we conceded a goal in added time which gave them a lift," he told reporters.
"Give them credit, in the second half they threw everything at us. We had to show some more resilience and we did that.
"They put us under pressure but we defended very well. I was very pleased with the performance. It was a cracking cup tie and a throwback to the old days. I really enjoyed it."
Albion are now unbeaten in five matches since Pulis was appointed as manager.
