West Bromwich Albion make Troy Deeney approach?

West Bromwich Albion reportedly contact Watford in a bid to sign striker Troy Deeney during this month's transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly contacted Watford to make an offer for forward Troy Deeney.

The Baggies' top goalscorer, Saido Berahino, has been linked with a move away from The Hawthorns, leading to speculation that new manager Tony Pulis will be looking to bring in a new striker.

According to the Daily Mail, the Welshman has contacted the Championship side in a bid to bring in Deeney before the end of this month's transfer window.

Deeney has scored nine goals in 21 appearances for Watford this season.
